We are adding additional ferry runs to meet the demand as areas on Hatteras Island reopen to the general public.

In addition to the current schedule, a 7 p.m. departure from Swan Quarter and a 10 p.m. departure from Ocracoke have been added beginning Saturday, Sept. 17 to accommodate the influx of visitors and will continue through Oct. 3.

The Swan Quarter-Ocracoke schedule is:

·Departing Swan Quarter at 7 a.m., 10, 12:30 p.m., 4:30 and 7; and

·Departing Ocracoke at 6:30 a.m., 9:30, 12:45 p.m., 4 and 10.

An additional run has also been added at Cedar Island, with a 6 p.m. departure and an 8:30 p.m. return departure from Ocracoke.

The Cedar Island-Ocracoke schedule is:

·Departing Cedar Island at 7 a.m., 10, 1 p.m., 3:30 and 6; and

·Departing Ocracoke at 7:30 a.m., 10, 1 p.m., 3:30 and 8:30.
